Absolutely avoid the use of abrasive products such as metallic and synthetic sponges which would irreparably damage the silver and the PVD surfaces. In the presence of air, silver is led to sulfur, assuming a more or less uniform dark colour. This also happens due to contact with some substances present in food. This is a natural phenomenon which does not harm the silver coating but does alter its appearance.
