The Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Factory, known as Royal Copenhagen , is a porcelain manufacturer founded in 1775 in the city of the same name. Its trademark logo is represented by three overlapping wavy lines, and cobalt blue is the signature color used in many decorations.
The manufacturing process became increasingly structured and diversified, allowing for the creation of themed product series, one of the most iconic of which is the famous “Seagull Service”, also known as the Danish National Service.
Initially, the focus was on dinnerware sets , with classic designs and exquisite decorations that made them renowned and sought-after by wealthy European families. Later, the focus shifted to high-quality figurines and decorative objects , true works of art created and decorated entirely by hand. This led to the creation of precious collectibles, always designed to embellish and personalize every home, lending it a touch of care and exclusivity.
The iconic blue hanging plates , celebrating the year of production with everyday subjects and scenes, have become true gift and collector's items over the years, adding great anticipation to Christmas gifts. The Royal Copenhagen and Bing & Grøndahl Christmas plates are a long-standing tradition, dating back over a century, with a new motif created each year since 1908 and 1895, respectively, telling a story of Danish culture.
